Locations

A location tells the customer where the appointment happens, and shows them how to attend. Locations are optional: if a service has none, the widget just skips the step. This page covers the four kinds and how they behave.

The four location types

  • In person. A physical address the customer comes to. The address appears in their confirmation.
  • Online. A video call. You can set a fixed meeting link that goes out with every confirmation, or leave it blank and the confirmation tells the customer a link will be emailed before the appointment.
  • Phone. You call the customer at the number they give when booking.
  • We come to you. A mobile or home visit. The customer is asked for their address when they book, and it goes to you with the booking.

Attaching locations to a service

Create locations in the Locations panel, then attach one or more to a service. What the widget does depends on how many are attached:

  • None, the location step is skipped entirely.
  • One, it is used automatically, no step for the customer.
  • More than one, the customer picks which location they want.

How the customer sees it

Each type produces its own "how to attend" line on the confirmation and the widget's summary:

Type What the customer is told
In person The location name and address
Online The meeting link, or that a link will be emailed before the appointment
Phone That you will call them at the number they provided
We come to you That you will come to the address they gave

"We come to you" needs an address

If a customer picks a "we come to you" location, the widget requires them to enter the address you should come to before it will let them finish. If it is missing, they see: "Please enter the address we should come to." That address is stored with the booking and included in your new-booking notification, so you know exactly where to go.

Where it shows up

The location and the how-to-attend text appear in the customer's confirmation email, on the widget's done screen, and, if you have write-back configured, you can map the location into your Webflow CMS item alongside the rest of the booking. See Booking write-back to your CMS.
